PATCH 1.0.2 | Get that visor in that transparent mirror for the party!

Welcome fellow Avigens!

A new patch just came out that focuses on.... transparent cameras? I have heard reports that visors go missing when looking at an Avigen through transparent mirrors. And that apparently happens through transparent cameras too. So I went digging and I have remediated this issue! Avigens now have an integrated "transparent camera mode" where a special coating inside their visor can be applied and removed at any time to allow their visor to display through both transparent cameras and mirrors! The one downside is that it renders the visor opaque, making it impossible to see what's behind it when this mode is on, only the inside of the visor stays visible. This is why you should turn this on only when in front of a transparent camera or mirror.

Plus, I will be organizing an Avigen release party meetup in VRC on June 10th, at 7PM EST, live on my Twitch channel! Come in with your Avigens all recolored, customized, dressed up, whatever (SFW) modifications you apply to them and come party with us!

And now, here is the full list of updates, since the visor isn't the only thing that changed!

  • (General) An extra mesh layer has been added inside the visor, which is an inverted opaque material that fixes the visor not being able to be seen through transparent cameras and transparent mirrors. A blend shape has been added to toggle this extra layer on (it is off by default). Note that this setup could change in the future for the VRChat rig but nothing is confirmed about that, so keep that in mind.
  • (General) Added labelling blend shapes and renamed some of them to make it easier to distinguish between each.
  • (Unity) Added an animation inside the animator to toggle on or off the transparent camera visor mode. This apply to both the Base and the VRC packages.
  • (VRC) Added an "Enable Transparent Mirror Mode" toggle. It is inside the Expression Controls sub-menu.
  • (Blender) Updated the save file to integrate the new visor setup and blend shapes.
  • (Docs) Updated the graphics for the VRC Expression Controls menu and bumped the version to 1.0.2.

  • (General) Fixed the "Cyber Split" default recolor's transparent emission texture where the visor had a white tip on its left (a leftover from an idea I had during the initial creation process which did not end up looking as I imagined).

This update applies to the Base Unity Package and the VRChat Unity Package. To install this update in your project, import the Base Unity Package first. Then, for VRC, import the VRC Unity Package second. The Beat Saber Unity Package is unaffected and does not require to be reimported.

This update also applies for the Blender source files. If you've made modifications to it, you will need to transfer your edits from your old to the new source files for the VRChat export to work fine.
