Mike'Vali MM Upgrade #1 - The "How did I miss these" Update (and Thank You)

Chirp!

Welcome to this first ever update devlog to the Mike'Vali!  First off, a huge thank you to everyone that has visited my booth during Furality last weekend! It's been absolutely amazing to meet all of you and the reception to the Mike'Vali base has been overwhelmingly positive!

Now that Furality is over, it's time to get to bug fixing!  A couple of things have been noticed, both by myself and some of my friends during the convention. I did make some express fixes while streaming the convention, including Glow Modes not working on EZRecolor and the nuzzles contacts being a bit too far away from the face. I'll include these quick fixes in tonight's patch notes too.

I have done some extra search and found other small problems, which might take a bit of effort and time to figure out (an overlook when I initially made the mesh and rig, more specifically for the low-poly Quest & Fallback version), so I'll be sticking with the easy stuff for now.  My brain is completely exhausted after weeks of non-stop work and sleep deprivation to complete both the Mike'Vali and Featherworks (the other avatar that I actually made fully live on stream) for Furality Sylva. Add in the sleep deprivation of Furality itself, I'm kind of dead X_X Sooooo expect at least a week of break from me after this patch so I can regain some energy.

And without further ado... Patch Notes!

Patch 1.0.0a

  • (VRC) Express fix mid-Furality, corrected the position of the Nuzzles contacts on the digitigrade variant, bringing them closer to the nose (they were fixed on all plantigrades, but was somehow forgotten to be applied on the digitigrade.)

Actions required: Simply reimport the VRC package.

Patch 1.0.0b

  • (VRC) Express fix mid-Furality, fixed glow modes not working on the EZRecolor template. Problem was that the wrong shader was used (plain EZRecolor instead of EZRecolor_FluctuatingGlow. Whoops)

Actions required: Simply reimport the Base package.

Patch 1.0.1

  • (General) Added a new Mixamo animation pack in the Source Files, with an FBX that is compatible with Mixamo. Why? Got bored at work during lunch time and did this :P
  • (General) Fixed weight painting inside the mouth and the tip of the jaw to not be mapped on the neck.
  • (VRC) Applied a workaround for the eyes to limit their rotation to a much smaller range (from 30 deg -> 10 deg on all axis), due to them rotating really fast on very small head movements. This might require some kind of rig change later down the line, but for now this should be fine for most use cases (unfortunate, but not the worst).
  • (Blender) Packed all the textures into the .blend file so that they don't fail to link each time the version number of the folder changes.
  • (Blender) Changed all the textures' interpolation modes from Linear to Smart.

Actions required: Reimport the Base package. If for a VRC project, also reimport the VRC Package afterwards.

Known issues:

  • Eyes on Quest & Fallback versions (low resolution model) clip through each other.
  • Without the applied workaround limiting eye rotation on VRC, they turn really fast when the user moves their head slightly around.

Patch 1.0.1a

  • (Unity) Fixed the body EZRecolor having the wrong emission texture on all variants except tail 1 male.
